Associate Professor in social work

At The Faculty of Social Sciences, Department of Sociology and Social Work a position as associate professor in social Work in the field of Labour market, employment policy and social work is open for appointment from 1 st. of December 2018 or soon thereafter.

Job description

The position should contribute to strengthening the department’s international research profile in the field of labour market, employment policy and social work. Applicants who contribute to understanding the human, social and practical consequences of labour market conditions, employment policies and related social work are preferred. Applicants must demonstrate strong competence in this research field as well as in theories, methods and empirical research relevant for the field.

Teaching activities within the position include lecturing, supervision, coordination and planning primarily at Bachelor and Master of Social work, secondarily at the other study programmes within the School for Sociology and Social Work.

Qualification requirements
It is presupposed that applicants for the position as associate professor have research qualifications corresponding to the level achieved from a successful employment period as an assistant professor/researcher, or achieved otherwise. The applicants must document scientific production at an international level. Furthermore, it is presupposed that the applicants have received supervision and pedagogical upgrading and a positive written evaluation of their teaching qualifications.

Moreover it will be an advantage, but not a prerequisite, that applicants have experience with Problem Based Learning (PBL) which is Aalborg University's teaching philosophy.

Agreement

Appointment is in accordance with the Ministerial Order on the Appointment of Academic Staff at Universities (the Appointment Order) and the Ministry of Higher Education and Science's Job Structure for Academic Staff at Universities. Salary is in accordance with the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC) on Academics in the State.
