The research group of Urban Water has four tenure staff, one postdoc, one PhD student, one research assistant, and two technicians who currently are working on both research and education. The main research of the assistant professor will be on urban hydrology with focus on interaction between storm drainage system and groundwater, flood modelling, Real-time modelling of urban storm drainage. An important part of research is to develop new methods and models, which can describe the complex interaction of hydrological subsystems in an urban setting.

It is important that the candidate has documented experience within the urban water engineering, urban hydrology, and hydrodynamics. Furthermore, the candidate also has to have experience with making, deploying and operation of loT sensors for parameters such as level, flow, rain etc. As the research group code their own models in C, Python, and Matlab, it is beneficial to have an experience with programming in these languages. Also, experience with use of other commercial models, such as Modflow/GMS, MIKE models, COMSOL and GIS models is preferable. A combination of CFD models and physical sensors are used to design the next generation of hydrological surveillance systems. The research will contribute to the further development of this technology.

As the position of assistant professor also includes a substantive involvement in the teaching and supervision within the university programs Water and environment, Environmental Technology, Biology, Chemistry and physical geography, the successful candidate that document the relevant teaching experience and merits for similar curricula will be an advantage.
