At the Technical Faculty of IT and Design, Department of Architecture, Design, and Media Technology a position as Research Assistant in Architectural Robotics is open for appointment from September 1st, 2018 or soon hereafter and for a period of one year. The Department of Architecture, Design, and Media Technology has as its goal the development of an innovative cluster of engineering-based environments for education and research which integrate creativity, engineering and technology within the disciplines of architecture, urban design, industrial design, digital design and interactive media. The department is a leading research and educational environment in Denmark that addresses the challenge of the interplay between creativity and technology, and develops new areas in research and education directed towards the end-user.

The candidate for this position must have a relevant background in architecture and/or architectural engineering with proven experience, knowledge and skills in working with industrial robots for architectural experimentation.

Job description:
The position as a research assistant in architectural robotics is placed in the Architectural Section at the Department of Architecture, Design and Media Technology, and contains both teaching and research, with a strong focus on experimental research on questions concerning the merge between robotics and vernacular craft methods. The research will be carried out in relation to the Research Group for Tectonics in Architecture.

The applicant will have to work with research and teaching along with other engineers and architects employed at the Architectural Section. This work requires knowledge of and experience with problem based and project oriented learning, integrated design and use of digital methods and tools as Grasshopper, Rhino, and parametric design at university level.

Qualification requirements:
The required level of qualifications is at master level.

Reappointment may be made, but a Research Assistant can only be appointed to Research Assistant for a period of maximum three years. Agreement

Employment is in accordance with the Ministerial Order on the Appointment of Academic Staff at Universities (the Appointment Order) and the Ministry of Finance's current Job Structure for Academic Staff at Universities. Employment and salary are in accordance with the collective agreement for state-employed academics.
