Job description

The construction industry faces numerous documented challenges related to improper waste disposal, including issues such as illegal dumping, litter pollution, and incorrect sorting. A significant portion of this waste could be repurposed within a circular market, yet the construction industry remains a major contributor to the global waste problem.

This project aims to enhance waste management practices in on-site construction by addressing two key areas:(a) reducing the amount of unsorted and abandoned waste, and(b) optimizing waste management by considering human behavior.

We are seeking a candidate with expertise in construction management, ideally holding a relevant educational background in the field, with practical experience being advantageous. Preferred qualifications include:

  • Knowledge and experience in on-site construction, construction management, and preferably waste management.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, including qualitative and quantitative research studies.
  • Expertise in data science, statistical analysis, and mathematics.
  • Experience with programming languages such as MATLAB and Python.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and modeling skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and preferably Danish.
  • Experience in writing scientific papers.

Additionally, experience in teaching and supervision, particularly in problem-based learning, is considered an advantage, as the candidate is expected to contribute to the Construction Management and Building Informatics education at Aalborg University.
