Job description

You will be a part of the Division of Sustainability of Buildings at the Department of the Built Environment, that focusses on research within life cycle assessment and other sustainability assessments of building materials, buildings and the built environment.

You will be part of a research team that works with the development of tools and methods for assessing the environmental sustainability within the built environment. You will work on the following topics:

  • Life cycle assessment of the use of wood and other biogenic materials in buildings, with specific focus on dynamic LCA
  • Life cycle assessment of buildings and the built environment
  • Development of methods and tools for assessing environmental impacts of the built environment, with specific focus on dynamic LCA
  • Environmental and sustainability assessment within the built environment
  • Circular economy within the built environment

Teaching might be a part of your work and will primarily be within life cycle assessment of buildings and the built environment.

Qualification requirements:
The required level of qualifications is at master level. 

The application must contain the following:

    • Current CV(including personal data).
    • Copy of relevant diplomas(Master of Science and, if any, PhD) On request you could be asked for an official English translation.
    • Scientific qualifications. You may attach up to 5 publications(optional).
    • Dissemination qualifications, including participation on committees or boards, participation in organisations and the like(optional).
    • References/recommendations.

Appointment to Research Assistant may be for a period of up to three years. Reappointment may be made, but a Research Assistant can only be appointed to Research Assistant for a period of maximum three years. Wages and employment

Employment is in accordance with the Ministerial Order on the Appointment of Academic Staff at Universities(the Appointment Order) and the Ministry of Finance's current Job Structure for Academic Staff at Universities. Employment and salary are in accordance with the collective agreement for state-employed academics.
