Job description

Clinical pharmacology has always been a quantitative discipline making extensive use of different analytical methods to extract knowledge from data, and the rapidly evolving field of data science offers many opportunities for clinical pharmacologists and in drug development. Data science is impacting the data sources and types that are becoming available, how data are captured and made available to users, and how they are analyzed and interpreted.
We are looking for a candidate that will bring in new knowledge of Data Science in the areas of pharmacology/clinical pharmacology or drug development.

You should have a master in pharmacy, MD, or natural science or equivalent, and hold a relevant PhD degree within pharmacy, medicine or another relevant topic. Candidates that have hands-on and extensive experience in relevant data science(e.g. bioinformatics, big data, ai, modelling, pharmacology, biomarker development or drug target discovery will be preferred.

You will teach within the different study programmes at the Department, incl. Medicine, Medicine with Industrial Specialisation, Biomedical Engineering and Informatics, and Pain Science and Multidisciplinary Pain Management. You should be able to teach in Danish and English. It will be considered an advantage, but not a prerequisite, to have experience with problem-based learning which is Aalborg University's pedagogical model.

The Department of Health Science and Technology has just moved to new offices and facilities with function-based state of the art laboratories supporting preclinical phases of drug discovery as cell culture, flow cytometry, protein research, genetic research, histology both light and EM microscopy, and animal facilities etc. AAU’s CLAAUDIA service supports data management and data science.

The successful candidate will be affiliated to one of these research groups:”Molecular Pharmacology, Medical Microbiology and Immunology, Neurobiological Research and Drug Delivery or Regenerative Medicine.

You may obtain further professional information from Head of Department, Kim Dremstrup, e-mail:kdn@hst.aau.dk or Vice Head of Department, Winnie Jensen, e-mail:wj@hst.aau.dk.
