Part-time lecturer in Lighting Design
At The Technical Faculty of IT and Design, Department of Architecture, Design and Media Technology (Copenhagen Campus) a position as part-time lecturer in Lighting Design is available for a period of 3 years from September 1 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.
The Department of Architecture, Design, and Media Technology has as its goal the development of an innovative cluster of engineering-based environments for education and research which integrate creativity, engineering and technology within the disciplines of architecture, urban design, industrial design, digital design and interactive media. The department is a leading research and educational environment in Denmark that addresses the challenge of the interplay between creativity and technology, and develops new areas in research and education directed towards the end-user.
Qualification requirements
Appointment as a part-time lecturer requires academic qualifications at master’s degree level.
Employment as a part-time lecturer requires either relevant practical experience at a high level which has not been achieved through an academic appointment at a university or employment in an principal academic position at another university. When employed due to relevant practical experience, you must have in-depth, up-to-date knowledge of the subject/subject's applications that has been gained or will be gained through employment in the profession. Teaching qualifications are included in the assessment of applicants for a part-time lectureship.
Your competencies
We are looking for a lighting designer with teaching, practice and research experience related to the field of outdoor lighting. Preferably with special knowledge about the social aspects of lighting and experience in conducting outdoor lighting events where local communities are engaged to create context specific lighting for both people and places.
Your experience from practice (minimum 5 years) must be anchored in international Lighting Design companies, likewise research experience must be from international projects. Knowledge that you can pass on to the Lighting Design students and thereby bridge between practice and academia in your teaching.

Salary and terms of employment
The employment is in accordance with the Ministerial Order on the Appointment of Academic Staff at Universities (the Appointment Order) and the Ministerial Order on Job Structure for Academic Staff at Universities (in Danish) and agreement on part-time lecturers and teaching assistants at universities etc. under Ministry of Higher Education and Science (in Danish).
There is a mutual probationary period of 3 months for the position.
