Post Doc in the integration of refugees on the labour market

Job description

A three-year post doc position is open at the Centre for Labour Market Research at Aalborg University ( The position is attached to a subproject within the cross disciplinary research project FLOW (, which is studying the impact of migration on northwestern welfare states (Denmark, Sweden, Holland and Germany).

The subproject includes (1) comparative studies of labour market integration of refugees in Sweden, Netherlands and Germany and assessments of possibilities for policy-transfer to Denmark, (2) quantitative and qualitative analysis of labour market integration in Denmark with a focus on better matches between refugees and employers.

The position includes teaching responsibilities and participation in a teaching course for assistant professors (”adjunktpædagogikum”). The teaching obligations will primarily be on the educations in Politics and Administration, Master of Public Governance and Social Advisors education.

Qualification requirements
Candidates must have scientific qualifications at PhD level. In the selection of candidates, emphasis will be placed on research potential and pedagogical qualifications as well as experience with supervision and lectures. To a limited extent other tasks may occur in the position.

Applicants should have a Ph.D.-degree in social sciences and documented experiences with quantitative and qualitative methods, and a solid knowledge of the Danish labour market.

Moreover it will be an advantage, but not a prerequisite, that applicants have experience with Problem Based Learning (PBL) which is Aalborg University's teaching philosophy.
