Research Assistant Media Technology

At the Technical Faculty of IT and Design, Department of Architecture and Media Technology a position as research assistant in media technology is open for appointment from January 1st or soon hereafter. The position is available for a period of 1 year. The Department of Architecture, Design, and Media Technology has as its goal the development of an innovative cluster of engineering-based environments for education and research which integrate creativity, engineering and technology within the disciplines of architecture, urban design, industrial design, digital design and interactive media. The department is a leading research and educational environment in Denmark that addresses the challenge of the interplay between creativity and technology, and develops new areas in research and education directed towards the end-user.

Job description

The AAU Interaction Lab is looking for a research assistant. The research assistant will mainly be working on the Erasmus+ Strategic Initiative Digital Culture. Concrete work goals include: (i) integration of automatic assessment into the Virtual Learning Hub; (ii) content creation for two MOOC modules (VR; mobile interaction); (iii) preparation of experimental studies with adult learners and special needs learners.

The candidate should be proficient in prototyping and programming in Unity, Python/Django, and R. The ideal candidate has published in the area of health technology or rehabilitative technology with a focus on human computer interaction or human centered design. Familiarity with the design of research instruments and the collection, processing, and analysis of both qualitative and quantitative data e.g. through experiments or ethnographic field studies is assumed.

Qualification requirements:
The required level of qualifications is at master level.

Reappointment may be made, but a Research Assistant can only be appointed to Research Assistant for a period of maximum three years. Agreement

Employment is in accordance with the Ministerial Order on the Appointment of Academic Staff at Universities (the Appointment Order) and the Ministry of Finance's current Job Structure for Academic Staff at Universities. Employment and salary are in accordance with the collective agreement for state-employed academics.
