One or more Professor(s) in Land Management and Cadastral Systems

At the Technical Faculty of IT and Design, Department of Planning, Copenhagen and Aalborg, 1 -2 positions as Full Professor in Land Management and Cadastral Systems are open for appointment from 1 January 2021 or soon hereafter. The field of the Department for Planning includes development and planning in a broad sense, and thereby it ranges from the social science aspects of development like environmental management, physical planning, sector planning, land management, to technical subjects such as surveying and geoinformatics.

Job description

The position requires research qualifications at Senior Doctoral level within a broad range of fields related to land management and cadastral systems. The applicant is expected to have experience within land management and cadastral system topics like real property formation, use, registration and management of real property and associated rights, restrictions and responsibilities. In addition, it is expected that the applicant has experience with spatial data infrastructure, land information systems, and digital governance. Societal challenges like climate change and the UN sustainability goals are important research topics at the Department of Planning and the role of land management and cadastre in connection with these topics will be important research fields.

In addition, you are expected to strengthen the collaboration with key international research environments, the national agencies for land management and cadastre, as well as other organisations, such as the International Association of Surveyors, and the National Association of Chartered Surveyors.

Teaching will primarily be in land management and cadastre as part of our master programme in Land Management, Surveying and Mapping and in other study programmes at the University. Teaching as well as research is carried out in an international environment regarding students, staff, and research projects.

Qualification requirements:
The successful applicant can demonstrate a documented high level of original scientific production at an international level, including proven further development of the research area in question. An assessment of the candidate’s undertaking of research management and/or other possible management functions will also be taken into account. In addition the applicant is expected to have the qualifications required for undertaking teaching responsibilities. Special contributions to and development of educational and teaching related areas will be considered in the overall assessment.

Agreement

Appointment and salary acc. to the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of professional Associations (AC) on Academics in the State. Employment as Professor is in accordance with a classified position on scale 37. In addition, a pensionable increment will be given.
