Job description

The Protein Science Group is offering the postdoc position funded in part by a Lundbeck Foundation Experiment grant. A key element of the research of the group is identification of the underlying molecular mechanism for human disease causing missense mutations. This most often involves establishing protein expression and purification protocols, and biophysical characterization. Further, development or implementation of functional assays will be an important part of the position. Some teaching is to be expected, primarily in the form of supervision of project groups, master project students or PhD-students. Thus, experience with supervising project groups is considered an advantage.

Applicants for this Postdoc position should hold a PhD in Biotechnology or similar, and have experience in protein expression, purification and characterization, and advanced protein biophysical methods incl. intrinsic and extrinsic fluorescence, fluorescence anisotropy, circular dichroism, thermophoresis, ITC, and mass spectrometry methods. Experience with automated plate-based assay setup, and purification of membrane proteins is considered an advantage. The candidate should be self-driven and able to take independent initiative. Excellent skills in oral and written English are required. Experience from international research stays will be considered an advantage. The candidate must submit the application including CV, list of publications, official examination certificates (including academic transcripts) and one or more recommendation letters.

Limited teaching within the area can be expected, but also in other study programmes at the University.
