Job description

The PhD Stipend is to be part of an interdisciplinary collaboration between the two departmental research groups of Service Systems Design and Urban Design – Transformation & Mobilities.

The overall theme of the stipend is that of future making and scenario building in participatory processes. The purpose of the PhD is to create research-based knowledge about theories and methods on how futuring and, in particular, the creation of scenarios can be used to support broader participation across urban and service design processes. The intention is to explore scenario building as a way to more collaboratively envision, describe, explain and predict how our cities and related services can and shall develop in the future. The PhD should explore such theoretical and methodological aspects through a case study setting (exploring how scenario building can be applied in an urban environment undergoing societal change).
