At the Technical Faculty of IT and Design, Department of Architecture, Design, and Media Technology a position as Postdoc in the EU project Drapebot (Collaborative Draping of Carbon Fibres), is available from May 1st, 2023 or soon hereafter and until December 31st, 2024. The Department of Architecture, Design, and Media Technology's goal is the development of an innovative cluster of engineering-based environments for education and research which integrate creativity, engineering and technology within the disciplines of architecture, urban design, industrial design, digital design and interactive media. The department is a leading research and educational environment in Denmark that addresses the challenge of the interplay between creativity and technology, and develops new areas in research and education directed towards the end-user.

Job description

In this position, the PostDoc is expected to work on the usability analysis of realtime trust assessment for collaborative robots and should thus have experience in design and analysis of user experiments.

The PostDoc will be affiliated with the human machine interaction group ( at the Department of Architecture, Design, and Media Technology and will work in the context of the interdisciplinary and cross-departmental HRI-lab at AAU (

 Your profile:

  1. A PhD degree (or equivalent) in Robotics or HCI.
  2. Good programming skills (e.g., R, Python, C#). Experience with statistical analysis is highly valued.
  3. Knowledge of and experience with experimental user studies.
  4. Great written and verbal communication, as well as presentation skills.
  5. Highly proficient English language skills.
  6. Good organizational skills, creative, innovative, motivated thinker.
  7. Motivation to collaborate in an interdisciplinary international team.

Qualification requirements: 

Appointment as Postdoc presupposes scientific qualifications at PhD–level or similar scientific qualifications. The research potential of each applicant will be emphasized in the overall assessment. Appointment as a Postdoc cannot exceed a period of four years in total at Aalborg University.
